Donate rice by improving your vocabulary

I was highly excited about a website, I recently dicovered: «FreeRice». On this site you can help the United Nations to fight against world hunger by training your english vocabulary!

10 grains for every correct word
The system is simple: You have to choose the correct meaning of a given english word by selecting from four choices (also english). If you got it right, freerice.com donates 10 grains of rice to the UN world food program and you get a harder word. If you got it wrong, you get an easier word.

50 vocabulary levels
Simply said, it's a web-based english-english vocabulary trainer. Therefore it is very useful to improve and enrich your existing english vocabulary, but not to learn english from the ground up. Since there are 50 difficulty levels, the training not only adjusts itself to optimize your learning, but can also get very demanding – even for native speakers.

The site started on October 7th this year and donated in almost two moths the incredible amount of 3,5 billions of rice grains! So, why are you still reading here? Improve your english and «donate» rice now! Or learn more about the project in the website's FAQ. Can there be any better side effect of vocabulary training than this?

Ehre, wem Ehre gebührt

Ich möchte an dieser Stelle meinen herzlichsten Dank an Davide und Michał (ja, das "L" muss so sein) aussprechen. Ihnen ist es zu verdanken, dass meine Website www.berndeutsch.ch um zwei Sprachen reicher geworden ist!

Seit Ende Juli ist die italienische Version von Davide online, seit wenigen Minuten die polnische Version von Michał.

Henne guet!
